In late 2013, MST manager Brian Heisler came to Lynx producer Brandon Hagen about teaming up with his company, Bear Orange, and with popular online music magazine Relix, to do a live webcast of MST’s 2014 Mardi Grass performance at the Fox Theatre in Boulder, Colorado. This was to be the culmination of a winter tour, and stood out by including Railroad Earth’s Tim Carbone on violin for the night.
Lynx spearheaded the production of the webcast, assembling a 5-camera shoot with partners Greenworks Video and HearSeeFeel Productions. As an audio engineer at the Fox Theatre, he also had the blessing of the production team to demonstrate the feasibility of webcasting in-house, piquing the interest of the decision-makers of Z2 Entertainment, the company that oversees operations at the Fox and Boulder Theaters.
The webcast was a success. All levels of management involved lauded the effort, and Relix Magazine continued to pursue future webcasting engagements with Lynx.
